Rebecca Grey

San Francisco, California

Rebecca Grey is the owner and founder of The Grey Law Firm, PC and a mediator.  Since graduating from Stanford Law School, Rebecca's 20-year career has focused on representing individuals in coverage disputes with their insurance companies.  She has extensive experience in litigation on behalf of clients in disputes with their insurers arising from business coverage disputes as well as employer-provided and private health, life, disability, and long-term care insurance. Rebecca manages her clients' pre-litigation negotiation, administrative appeals, pre-trial litigation, mediations, trial and appeals.

Prior to founding the Grey Law Firm in 2012, Rebecca did employment litigation on behalf of plaintiffs and worked for the San Francisco Superior Court as a Legal Research Attorney.  She was an associate and then a partner at Pillsbury & Levinson, LLP (now Pillsbury & Coleman) for 14 years.  The Grey Law Firm, PC is exclusively devoted to the representation of insurance policyholders whose life, disability, health and long term care claims have been wrongfully denied, whether governed by state insurance law or ERISA.

Rebecca has been a neutral and mediator for over six years.  Rebecca has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the San Francisco Superior Court since 2012 where she is assigned to the Mandatory Settlement Conference calendar in a wide range of civil disputes.  She serves as a settlement Pro Tem in unlawful detainer cases.  In addition to her neutral work, she is a Discovery Department Judge Pro Tem.  She completed the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution program in 2014, as well as multiple alternative dispute resolution trainings by the San Francisco Superior Court.

She has served on the clinical faculty of Stanford Law School's Trial Advocacy Program since 2007.  She currently volunteers with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel Pro Bono attorney panel.

Rebecca has been named a Northern California Super Lawyer several years in a row.

Rebecca is a fifth generation San Franciscan, scuba diver, SPCA volunteer and a cancer survivor.  When she's not practicing law or mediating cases, Rebecca likes to spend time with her husband and teen-aged daughter, preferably anywhere in or near the water.
